Blue And White Organic Ceramics
As mentioned yesterday, over the weekend I purchased two rather splendid blue and white ceramic pots by Lee Page Hanson from the Manchester Craft Centre:
I think the patterns were probably created by the artist pressing the palm of his hand to the clay - but from further away they look like Japanese mountain scenes. I find the contrast between distance and immediacy rather pleasing.
In addition to pots, vessels, vases and spheres, Lee also makes tiles:
Loving the birds, natch. I like the idea of choosing four (or maybe nine) and hanging them in a grid in our home office.
