Baby's Room Inspiration Board
Yay, another baby girl room to decorate! Before Natalia arrived (and we found out she was a girl!) I'd already decided on a yellow and blue colour scheme. It then felt right to add some aqua into the mix. Here's how the inspiration board is looking at the moment:

I'm absolutely loving decorating with colour at the moment. Yellow and hot pink for the spare bedroom, raspberry and pale blue for Eva's bedroom, and now yellow, aqua and light blue for Natalia's bedroom. Children need colour and pattern, rather than room after room of neutrals (although we are planning for our bedroom to be a gorgeous oasis of ivory, cream, linen, lace, coffee... delectable. And no felt tip pens allowed!).
In particular I'm enjoying hunting out fabulous patterned fabrics. Eva has hot pink and white curtains depicting a fantasy landscape of animals and famous world landmarks. Natalia is going to have aqua and white curtains in a very similar hand-drawn style with scenes from an English country garden - little cottages, flowers, hens, butterflies, birds, trees. I haven't ordered the material yet though as I'm waiting on delivery of the paint samples first so I can check the fabric sample will co-ordinate with at least one of the paint options. 'Tis a very complex process.
Here are some of the fabric options. I already have the yellow and white fabric as it's left over from making the spare room curtains.

I love the Marimekko fabric, but I can't find a seller who provides samples, and it's just too expensive to purchase without having seen the colour and fabric weight. Finding a modern blue and white floral that isn't too pretty-pretty and Cath Kidston-esque is surprisingly challenging. But with a baby who frequently likes to party all night, hey, I've got plenty of time for research. What a helpful little lady she is :-)
